STUDENT ISSUES!!
We generally have viva following every internal. We have to go to all the teachers of the department (HOD included) individually and it lasts for about 5-10 mins. But as it goes that our viva is for 40 marks they make it 4*10..meaning 4 teachers and 10 marks per teacher!!!...This is the general protocol and I fairly guess this is a much better way to assess students and grade them(note: I am using the word better). Firstly you go to the teacher individually so whatever happens inside is only between both you...meaning if getting scolded was an issue then only your teacher is scolding (which like happens every alternate day!!) when nobody else is around!!:) for it can very embarrassing to be be insulted amidst your friends.

Now coming to why I used the word "better"...Now in the 2nd year...this is not the pattern of viva!! Now it is called Tutorials!! What happens in this is that... we are divided into batches and each batch is assigned 4-5 teachers respectively(again HOD included). We are made to sit according to our roll numbers and each of us is posed a question and if one didn't know the answer it is passed on to the next in roll!! And the marking scheme is like 1 or 0.Wait...the question is passed .....not before you get a piece of the teacher's mind!!! It goes to that level where our teachers even ask us which text books we refer to!!:( OMG it is pretty nightmarish!!:x

This system is nice in ways more than one...firstly when others make mistakes you also tend to realize where you could go wrong, plus the teachers discuss the topic and it ends like a group discussion with marks!!It is re-revising the topic with your teachers in class of 25(not 100). Finally after one session of disgrace we prepare better for the next one:)

Now coming to the flaws...the first candidate is the most fortunate one (unfortunately not me)...for he/she get the most easiest question...most of the times it is a definition!!..and the ones towards the middle(this is where I come) get the modified difficult versions of the easy questions:( our questions always start like...What do you think happens when......?,Why should this .....?Can you think of other examples....?...and so on...:(...all these are very subjective and it requires explanation which is never satisfying to our teachers..they want so called short and crisp answers!!("ans to the point" is what we are told!!).

Hmmm anyway lot of things can't be changed...Teachers are always right and customers are always right!!....lol. Students are students!!! What is a student's life without scoldings? An exam without tension? Viva without fear? All this is a part and parcel of student life...:) with which happiness comes along as an UNLIMITED PACKAGE!!! :):)

"USING THE GIFT OF GAB"

Hello everyone!!
I wish to recall an incident that happened during my visit to my uncle's house in Trichy about 2 years back. My cousin( my uncle's daughter) was in 2nd std then(about 6 years old). I am very bad when it comes to talking or playing with children. I only get along well with my peer group. So no matter how much my cousin tried to involve me into playing housie , her barbie or her kitchen set , it was a total disaster. Then I actually found myself beginning to enjoy my cousin's company , her innocence , etc( I had promised my mum that I will be nice to her). One of the most important reasons why I began to like my cousin is that she had a wonderful stationary collection!! I know it might sound funny but I too have a very huge stationary collection!! A variety of erasers,in all shapes and forms, pens , crayons...ufff and what not!! Then during a casual chit-chat my aunt happened to mention that my cousin keeps losing her stationary in school...and for every one thing that she loses she makes it a point to buy 2 of it as compensation!!.(secret of her huge collection!!)

Later while playing with my cousin I told her
Me: "Nee school le unnode thingsla thollachittuvareyame eppadi?"
[You lose your things in school itseems...how?]
My cousin: "Aaama...Kizhe vizhuntha naan edukkarthille"
[Ya if they fall down I don't pick it up]
Me:"Kizhe vizhuntha edduthu ko."
[When it falls down pick it up]

Okay this was it and after few more days we left for B'lore. After a week or so my mum called them up. I also spoke to my cousin and then my aunt. My aunt then told me that after our visit my cousin didn't lose her stuff in school. I was flattered that my words had been effective. However my aunt went on to say that now she even brings others stuff also when they fall down!! :D
It was hilarious!! I should have spoken carefully asking her to pick up only her things when they fall down.

Well this is a very small incident but it kind of made me realize the importance of speaking carefully. We might mean to say something else but how the others take it...that we don't know!! Maybe a lot of misunderstandings , misconceptions are because we speak very carelessly. So choose your words carefully before speaking and please think before your speak!!

A PEEP INTO OUR MIND!!!

This is just an insight into the complex beings that we are...and the so many forces that drive us ahead!

"What kind of person am I?" "How do I react to things?" "Am I right?"...If there is an answer to all this then comes..."Is the answer right?"...Well all of these are rhetoric questions and of course there is an answer to all this...but the answer is not apt all the time.We are just a funny bunch of people living in a funny world trying to make sense of so many things which actually does not require it!!

We meet a lot many people in our daily life, face a lot of situations, encounter hardships, battle odds....we enjoy some, and definitely wish that somethings had never happened! How we react to many things is unpredictable...it just happens in the spur of a moment, but we do regret for it(maybe a mistake) later on for which we may not be responsible. So what's the answer?....Experience?Smartness?Presence of mind? Wit? Patience.......???Well,that's left to you!!

There are so many people in life whom we just like for no reason..and it pleases us to believe that it requires no reason to like them[there maybe reasons to dislike them...blah!!]It is very funny that someone just walks into your life...and lo!!Abracadabra...life is a bed of roses!!Funny but true:)We call them good friends,friends,partner,better-half,mentor....
You could love your best friend, your teacher is the most beautiful person, thinking of someone special could make you smile, your husband could be your best man!!It is ironic but true...that the person who loves you the most ,whom you love the most..become your greatest weakness!!Cheers to all these people who kickstart our daily lives and drive us ahead!!:)

Back to the situations that we face everyday.Like said before it is unpredictable the way we react to things.I could bet anything that "people" will react just the way I don't want them to...lol;)Moral of the story..."expect the unexpected"!!

Weakness manifests as anger,a sign of cowardice, and smile is a weapon of power!!Silence...is a tool often noticed in it's absence.I am sure all of us will agree regretting for not having practiced it.Parents preach silence, teachers command silence, prayers are said in silence, exams are conducted in silence...lol!!
Silence is a language understood by the very few..and thus it is aptly said..."Speech is silver and silence is golden".

Whatever is said and done..life still remains a mystery unraveled..and each day is just a new page that unfolds!!So don't worry too much...what it needs is, just to be lived and nothing more!!

So dream big,and just live it for life happens only once!!Cheers!!

If all that written above did not make any sense,or you couldn't relate it well,or you are totally confused then

CONGRATULATIONS!! WELCOME TO THE CLUB!! CHEERS!!:)
